I am a little disappointed to see that an adventurer has turned tourist and, naturally, developed a writer's block. Soul-mating must have had a profound effect on creativity. "This is how the world ends, not with a bang but with a whimper." - OK writers, who wrote that?

Point taken: I have been preoccupied, and it's a lot easier to write when I'm alone, and even a bit miserable! But there's another factor, the privacy of another. Although I'm willing to share my thoughts with the world to some extent, there are others I will not, and the unsharable ones are uppermost in my mind these days. The photos are a stop-gap measure for when I can get up the next post. I'm working on one for the Balkans now.

Oh, and that's TS Eliot. But the world is not ending here!

Ouch..."This is not what I meant. This isn't it. At all." (Who wrote That one?"

This is one my favourite poems which I dedicate to you, chi oi.

I WONDER by my troth, what thou and I
Did, till we loved ? were we not wean'd till then ?
But suck'd on country pleasures, childishly ?
Or snorted we in the Seven Sleepers' den ?
'Twas so ; but this, all pleasures fancies be ;
If ever any beauty I did see,
Which I desired, and got, 'twas but a dream of thee.

And now good-morrow to our waking souls,
Which watch not one another out of fear ;
For love all love of other sights controls,
And makes one little room an everywhere.
Let sea-discoverers to new worlds have gone ;
Let maps to other, worlds on worlds have shown ;
Let us possess one world ; each hath one, and is one.

My face in thine eye, thine in mine appears,
And true plain hearts do in the faces rest ;
Where can we find two better hemispheres
Without sharp north, without declining west ?
Whatever dies, was not mix'd equally ;
If our two loves be one, or thou and I
Love so alike that none can slacken, none can die.
